Question on crossfire config on this mobo

Here is my mobo:

I have two 6950s showing up today, and I'm pretty excited to get them setup.

Currently I have a GTX 260 on the blue slot, and I'm going to have a hell
of a time yanking it out because as it stands right now, the card extends over the first two slots, and my cooler takes up the entire space on the other side of the card.

I probably have to take the cooler out to get to the release switch for the PCIe slot and that's going to suck.

ANYWAYS, to avoid this situation in the future, is it possible to just use the White and the Black slot for my new 6950 xfire setup or would that not work?

It would work but the card in the black slot would only run at 4x and the card in the white slot would see very high temps because there is no gap between the cards.

Ah ok so the Black slot is 4X no matter what... ok, certainly not an option then.
