I have a "never been opened" AMD 64 Mobile 3400+ and would like to use it. I was curious to know if anyone could tell me if it would be compatible in any Athlon 64 socket 754 mobo.

Is it socket 754? should say on the box.
 
Yes, the processor is 754. It was an incorrect purchase a while back from Newegg and didn't send it back in time. It is an OEM processor.
 
That's the point. I haven't purchased a mobo yet as I was hoping for some advice first. I just hate having a 2.2 GHz processor laying around the house.
 
Ahhh, sorry I read that wrong. From what I know it works with jsut about any 754 baord, but you need a different heatsink, becasue it is lidless. You need somthing that can screw on.
