My local computer shop told me that a case with a front fan will actually make it HOTTER inside because it recycles hot air. They also told me AMD will void their warranty if the case has a front fan. What the hell is the best way to setup a case to keep it cool inside? I don't think what they are saying is true (definately not a first!) so please give me your opinions and experiences in this. Thanks.

Never heard about this void warranty thing! And a front case fan won't recycle hot air! That is exactly the point with a front case fan. Without it, only the back power supply fan is pushing air out with new air coming in from every hole, including the ones in the back where all the hot air is! With a front case fan, you have front air (wich is cooler) being sucked inside as the main source of new air, diminishing the recycling! It won't do wonders, but a recently punched a few holes before my front case fan (the case had only three measly slits!) and lost 2-3C both at idle and full load. Not having AC at my place, I take all I can ;-)

i dont know what they are talking about either, how can AMD's warranty be voided? Its not like you bought a computer from them and they are going to be servicing it. They will never be able to know what fans you have on your case and that really doesnt concern them, so i dont think that is true. and fans in the front are helpful for intaking air most definately.

LOL Mothman. I agree, they are full of $}{*t. They one time told me my Diamond stealth III wasn't 4x AGP capable even though it is. Actually his exact words was "I assure you that card is NOT 4x AGP capable." They don't know squat about computers but are the only ones in town who keep decent stuff in stock so I can pick stuff up there if I'm in a desparate hurry and can't wait for orders to arrive from the internet. I'm going to buy a case with a front fan. Thanks for all you guys input so far. Keep em coming!

They are definetly lieing. I think they're just tring to get you to go with their probably more expensive solution. On my computer, I use a Sunon 80mm fan on the bottom of my case blowing upwards, and anotherone in the back blowing out. I have a cooler bay bay sitting at the 2nd to top 5 1/4 bay of my case with nothing above it, blowing out, and I have a triple HDD fan blowing in to cool my HDD. Plus my heatsink fan, and PS fan. I have no heat issues. Visit 2cooltek.com he has some ideas, but don't take the one were he uses a shotgun to make a side vent hole seriously....
