I'm not talking about coasters, but when the program says you've burned successful, does errors as in corrupted bits or whatever happen often?

I'm going to reformat and I burned all of my programs on a span of 4 cds and I'm afraid that one of them will not be able to run correctly b/c of corrupted data despite the program saying the burn was a success.

Before I did my last format, I burned all of my movies onto cd. I have a panasonic 8xR, 4xW. All cd's burned "successfully". When I got my new computer up and running, I wanted to transfer all my movies back to my hard drive, using copy/paste in explorer. Some of them would give me the error "Cannot read from device", or something like that. I could play the movie from cd, but couldn't copy/paste. I lost the Matrix, Fight Club, Entrapment, EDTV. weird, huh? Man, I was pissed.
