Question on burning cds.

Hi all,
I have used my Sony 145E for a while and am happy with it. I usually use 80 minute Cds but more often than not when I add any more than 40 or 45 minutes of music, it kicks the cd out.
I have tried burning at slower speeds (as low as 2x) and reinstalled the Adaptec software. Any other suggestions?
Btw I have no problem burning data cds or copying a cd.

I remember reading somewhere that Sony burners are weak when it comes to burning audio CD's. (And I have a Sony burner myself!) As I recall, the reviewer surmised that it made sense that Sony would be less than stellar in this particular area, given the company's heavy involvement with the music industry and other audio components.

I'll try and track down a reference for you.
 
I never had a problem burning audio cd's with my Sony 140s. It sounds more like a software problem. Have you tried Nero? What software came with you Sony? I would try a different burning program and also try some different cd's. I have used 80 minute cd's without a problem.

 
The adaptec software (any version) should be fine for burning audio CDR.

Maybe something out of alignment in your CDRW-I'd get on the phone to Sony's tech support ASAP & get it corrected while its under warranty.

You should be able to burn at least 74 minutes no problem.
 
I have a ricoh burner and i have the same problem sometimes it helps when i just reformatt the music then restart the computer then burn i dont know why but that system works the best for me plus i use that adbtect burning software helps to start out fresh for me that burning programm seems to take up some juice!!!@
 
Thanks guys. I have upgraded my Adaptec to version 4.03 and will see how that works. However I have d/l a Nero demo to try and see if it will make a difference.
