Here's the pic

Recently bought this transformer that I once had as a kid but lost it in storage back then.
I thought instead of storing it in a box somewhere, I decided to keep it out in the open, So......................... I was thinking of buying or building a glass enclosure to keep dust and harmful light totally out............. Museum style case but affordable.
Needs to have glass that is totally transparent but also block most if not all UV rays and Incandescent yellow lighting that may fade the plastic.

I just want to encase it in a tough/sturdy/strong/transparent/UV resistant/easily transportable case w/ optional carrying handle on top. With a sealed type of wood base.
Approx. Dimensions for the case are D-19"/W-16"/H-23"

Suggestions? Like on the type of glass/wood to use. How to assemble, what type of silicone or glue to use, etc.

PS: I know about the stickers on the front left leg that are in the wrong place, no need to mention ;)

MALFUNCTION................. NEEEED INPUUUUUT! :p

Why not? I've seen people that collect empty f'in beer cans and store them **LOL**

Actually, I have a friend who is now about 45, who has all his old matchbox cars and hotwheels, but all are still sealed in original packaging. He only opened the ones he wanted to play with, but that is such a small segment of his collection. I think he can make his retirement from that collection.

This only cost me $650.00 It's not 100% complete. Missing the box and instructions. Those old matchbox cars can rank up there. I have a friend that sold a huge collection awhile back for over 2k

You paid $650 for that thing? Wow.

Look at this one w/damaged label sheet for $943.20 shipped

Yeah but according to that auction, its in mint condition with the original box.

The "ORIGINAL" label sheet is going to cost the guy who won, an easy $100.00 A reproduction sheet will run about $40.00 + shipping.

Ok guys, on to the trying to answer my question please ;)

Take some measurements, and decide how big you want the enclosure. You could make a simple base, out of wood, plastic, or something, and use channeled 2x2" wood, which you could slide custom cut glass into, finally adding a top, which you screw into each 2x2, at top and bottom. No goop required, unless you are trying to seal it against dust.

I know the basics but wanting mostly to know about the "glass" part. What can I buy that is impervious to UV and crap light that's fairly cheap. I'm thinking on an easy $200.00 for this so we can go by that.

a case like you described would run you a few hundred bucks. Museum-grade glass with the specs you want is expensive, especially in small pieces like you want. But then again you were stupid enough to blow $650 on the thing, so I'm sure it's worth it to you.
