Does anyone know if the abit ZM6 motherboard is coppermine approved? Does it support processors requireing 1.65 volts?

I'm looking to buy one and just need to know. I know the zm6 support 1.5 volts celeron II's, but not sure if it will support the 1.65 Volt celeron II's. The last BIOS said it supported up to a cel II 600. Maybe that's what they are trying to say.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, when I had my bm6 the only way to do a coppermine would be to get the powerleap adapter or you would have to mod it to accept the pin config of the coppermine. However, I did have a Celeron II 600 @ 900 in my bm6 right before I burned them both. It was a really good board.

hello stein...

I am in a similar predicament... i also have a zm6 and am looking to find and purchase the best chip for it... if you have the time and inclination, i would appreciate knowing how you solved your problem... I also have seen that a 600mhz was listed as workable with this board but do not want to take chances...

Thanks for your time... any reply can be sent to jovian@earthcam.net
or replied here...

take care... jovian

I've got a BM-6 (essentially the same as the ZM-6).
It can run the new celly's, but only the older stepping 'new' celly's. I've got a celly 600 @ 900 running in it now with no problems. I believe my 600 was a 1.5 or 1.6 default voltage. The newer stepping celly's are like 1.7 volt default, and do not work in the B/ZM's (maybe with a powerleap, but they're like $25). I tried several celly 633's, and a 'newer' celly 600 with the 1.7 v default voltage, none of which worked in my board.
