Question on A8N-VM-CSM

I haven't used one for a build yet, but for what you do it seems ideal. You'll even get hardware decode of MPEG2 and WMV HD 1080i/P. If your SBLive isn't the 24bit version the on-board sound should be a good option too.

Im thinking about using the mobo and saw it has dual dvi outpout. Does anyone know if the dvi output can be converted to vga for an old crt monitor?

The a8n-vm csm does NOT have dual DVI out. It has a single DVI-D and one VGA output. The DVI port can only be used on a digital monitor and the VGA can be used on either. So you have 1 analog and 1 digital output with the CSM model. The regular a8n-vm just has VGA out.
