I recently replaced my psu, because of it making a humming sound when turned off and getting "cpu fan fail or speed too slow" in bios. My psu was a Chill-Innovation 450w.
My new psu is a NorthQ 500w and while i've only received the cpu fan warning once, its nTune that worries me. I've disabled the q-fan controller, which effectively removes the cpu fan warning.
nTune readings:
CPU core: 2202.447 - 2211.618 Mhz
HT link: 1001.112 - 1005.281 Mhz
Memory: 400.445 - 402.112 Mhz
The gpu readings are steady.
The first values is on most of the time and are green, then periodically it changes to the second values and turn yellow.
Can i trust nTune is showing the real values or should it be ignored?
Speedfan readings:
vcore1 1.38-1.36 min 1.31 max 1.39
+3.3 3.33-3.31 min 3.18 max 3.36
+5v 4.97 min 4.97 max 5.03
+12v 11.90 min 11.71 max 11.97
-12v -1.58 min -1.75 max -1.42
-5v -8.78 min -8.78 max -8.78
+5 4.89 min 4.84 max 4.89
vbat 3.10 min 3.10 max 3.10
These readings is with running quake 4 for 20min.
My question is, have my system taken damaged from the previous psu? the nTune readings are the same on my old psu, i have no reference if its been like this from the start as i first installed nTune when i was aware of the problem.
I was thinking that i might need a bigger psu, i dont know.
