Its a good school compared to all the California State Universities out there, and a lot of other ones. Just compared to all the other ones like Berkely, San Diego, UCLA, UC Davis *I go here. :)* its not as good.

EDIT: He says yea, but its just hard. But then I figure its hard at any decent school.

I graduated from UCR so I think I can speak from experience. First, it's a boring school...not much going on off-campus, but if you really like to study, it's a right place for u. Second, it's not a rich school, don't compare it with UCLA or the likes.....UCR is not in that league, but it's a good school by its own.
I didn't know their (or should I say "our"?) business major is not accredited, I doubt how true that is, because a few of my friends major at business in UCR and they find great job after graduation....so you may want to confirm with UCR and see what they have to say.
Anyway, Good Luck;)

I hear from friends that there is actually some stuff aroudn there now. Its still out in the boonies, but they've been building some things there in recent years.

Davis is probably one of the last true college towns, but then we're only like 10 minutes from sac and 1-2 hours from San Francisco, Reno, and Lake Tahoe.

Hey, that's pretty good if your friends were able to find great jobs after graduating with MBA's from UC Riverside. I might think that it would be hard to find a job outside of a 100 mile radius of Riverside, where ppl aren't aware that there is even a UC in Riverside. I doubled checked the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business listing (AACSB), which provides accreditation to U.S. business schools (according to the U.S. News link previously) and indeed, UC Riverside is NOT one of these schools (as of Aug 2001).

I think someone else also talked about UCR being the only UC Business school. Actually, there are FOUR accredited schools in the U.C. system -- Berkeley (go bears!), UCLA, Davis, and Irvine. Berkeley's Haas school of business is a top-10 program. Also, 10 of the CalState schools have accreditaiton as well... but Riverside....does not.

Riverside is Southern California, Davis and Santa Cruz are Northern California.

Besides, go where all the hot chicks are... UCI!

Depends on what you want to study. I mean, if you want to study forestry, Humboldt State is probably the best school for in the nation. Overall, I'd have to say that UC Santa Cruz is the worst UC school. From a social perspective, it depends on what you like to do.

All the UC schools are pretty good...but as with all schools, it's really what you make of it that determines how well you succeed...despite what a good school does for your application, the business world has a cruel way of weeding out those who are not too capable.

Look at Stanford, you can drop ANY course any time during the year and not recieve a W or any type of mark on your record. Also, it was either Harvard or Stanford (can't remember which) where they only issued pass/fail grades...you know what that means :)

BTW, between Davis or UCR, I'd rather shoot myself :)

I toured Davis, it really isn't all that great. If your going to torture yourself, at least go to UCSB and find yourself a nice rich girl to marry. :)

are you sure you guys aren't mixing up undergrad with mba's?

the usnews ranking posted below is for their mba program.

ucla has no business school for undergrads but it has an mba program.

anyways ucr has nicer housing than ucla... grrrr... but for some i bet they wanted the UC name...

i think it depends on what you're going to major in, what you wanna do really...

have an ex that goes there... ick, i never liked that place... their dorms sucked, it smells like cow, and the only thing people did was rave (well, that's what i heard anyways)...

i go to UCI myself, i love the place... sure it's not a Berkeley or LA or SD, but hey man, it's quaint...
