Question: how to turn off 3G on iPhone 4

My wifey is out of town in China and is roaming at the moment. She wants to know how to turn off 3G on her phone, where do you go to change the settings? She wants only 2G voice, is that even possible? Thanks.

Go to settings>general>network there is an option there to disable 3G or cellular data. You can also turn off data roaming there.

Just so OP is aware, I think there's a misconception about 3G = data. 3G has voice and data. 2G has voice and data. Just because you turn off 3G doesn't mean you don't get data. You need to make sure you turn off cellular data to avoid unwanted data transfers. You can stay on 3G esp if they have 3G voice. 3G Voice > 2G Voice, especially if they use full duplexing.
