Question: Hooking up 2 extra routers as access points to my router/modem combo...

I have a cable modem/router combo in the basement. the wireless range on it is terrible. I have two direct connections going to the main floor and upstairs. Can I hook up two routers to these main connections as wireless access points? If yes, do they have to all have the same SSID and password? Thanks.

1. Yes, you can do this

Setting up the router as a WAP works just fine. and the 3 LAN ports left over can be used for wired devices as well.
