Is the ati 5970 2 gb better in games than the ati 5870 1gb which card has more power to run any game, what ever the answer is and why please

yep, it's way better. atm, it's basically 2 5870's with 5850 clock speeds.

Yes. The £530 card is better than the £330 card

As has been mentioned it is effectively 2x5850's (1GB each for a total of 2GB) running on a single card.

So why is it better? Because your paying for a high end dual GPU solution, wouldn't exist if it wasn't faster...
