Earlier tonight my friend clogged up a toilet at my place. For the past 2hrs I've been trying to fix it. The mouth of the bowl is an odd shape so the plunger didn't work too well. So I went to walmart and got some toilet auger thing. Now when I aug(real word?) the toilet the water in the bowl completely drains to the point where there is only about an inch of water in it but when I flush if fills up almost to the rim and just sits there. What am I doing wrong? I would call a plumber but its 2am Thanks Giving morning.

Edit: for miss-spelling plumber. Give me a break, I'm going on 1hr of sleep from last night and I had to bury my cat today. :(

Not too sure what a plumer is, but try just sticking your hand in there and pulling out the blockage.

You have something solid stuck in the lower depths of the s shaped pipe. You can stick your hand down in there and try to dislodge it or you can turn off the water, unscrew the base mounts, and pull the toilet. You will find your problem much easier, but you should replace the was seal if you do this.

He clogged the toilet with feathers?

Try the plunger again, then try the auger. Go crazy with it, shove it down there good.

You really have to get the plunger going to make it work.

If you and the whole bathroom aren't covered in toilet water you're not doing it correctly.

Easiest method:

Blame it on the next person to use it and make them fix it.

Yeah, try plunger again - really push it in with all the water you have in the bowl acting as a hydraulic battering ram. Auger could be tricky - the snake probably didn't go in far enough.

I believe this is the toilet in question. The openning is too small for my hand and it has a weird tube shape so if something is down there a plumber is gonna have to get it out.

Not a plumber. As an absolute last resort you can use a bigass shopvac. If whatever is in there can't won't go down it can probably come back up.

Buy your friend a buttplug imo. And go at it with the plunger, do it right and you'll get a hell of a workout while unclogging the thing.
