lol, didn't read the rest of this thread until I posted above. Guess I was the only sucker to take the hook.

I've been living by the following series of quotes that have served me well:
- There is no spoon
- Be water my friend
- If you're gonna shoot...shoot...don't talk
- I've fallen and I can't get up
- Game over man, game over
...and most recent - Any day above ground is a good day

It was a thoughtful and wise post, never regret those. Particularly when in ATOT.

Fucking CPA giving young guys good advice. way to blow the old grouchy guy thread we had going.

You think you are so special, that us older folk with life experience are going to tell you the meaning of life... for free??? We get $300 an hour for that shit.

I dunno but I just hit 30 last week and its like fuck me I guess I am an adult now. No kids or wife yet for me so at least I have that going for me.

Dont ask vague questions on the interwebs of people who dont know,or ever will know you. The answers will be irrelevant.

I am 58 years old with stage four lung cancer. Be grateful for every day you get above ground. Live your life as if each day might be your last.

When you live this way you will be amazed at how much small crap no longer bothers you. You will be shocked at how much better your marriage and relationships with others become,

As far as money goes, be sure to have enough life insurance to provide for your family should you die suddenly.

Your body will start to have a harder time with recovery after sports at around age 35. I now know why pro athletes retire at 35 to 40.

I guess any sports that people can peak at regularly in their 40s isn't that much of a sport.

When I was young I hated it, but my father always said "You're a kid until you're 30."
Damned if he wasn't right! You're not taken seriously as an adult until after 30, especially in the workplace. Now that I've reached the age to where I can order off of the seniors menu at IHOP, I'm in that same boat as looking at anybody under 30 as a "kid". I'm afraid it won't be too much longer until the "get off my lawn" stage.

Anyway, Happy Birthday and welcome to your first year of real adulthood!

Hi Guys.
... I was just curious what the old guys could teach us before they go and meet the maker. Cheers to old's and boomer and what not, 🙂

When I was young, mostly I didn't listen to anyone...Though, I remember one old timer that told me:

Every young man has an idea of how to make the world a better place.

Grow up, go to high school and you lose a bit of that...

Grow up, get drafted and you lose a bit more...

Stay alive, get married and you lose a bit more...

The key, he said, was not to lose all of it before you died...

That's all I've got.
