I'm about to purchase an MSI X1800XT with 512 MB memory.

What kind of Power Supply experiences have you had with yours. Good or bad?
Also what are you currently using that is providing sufficient power for your card. I'm about to get an Enermax 535 Watt more than likely. Just thought I'd check, and see what other PSU's are successfully powering X1800XT cards, and compare the price with what I am intending to get.

Much Appreciated,

Thanks

I use a Antec Neopower 480W to power my X1800XT. I wouldnt go overkill on the powersupply to power this thing, ive read someone powering a X1900XT on a 350w psu (although i wouldnt reccomend myself). Aslong as there is enough juice on the 12v rail (18a+) you should be fine.

I've been powering my 1800XT 256mb with a X-Connect 500W for months, never had any issues.

As DKcode said, dnless you go to a Crossfire setup, most good quality PSUs above 400W with at least 18A on the +12 will work great. A dual +12V rail-PSU would be ideal.

If that helps, I have a 1900XTX.

I ran ATi tool and rthfg whatever that is, and from what I infer my power supply was taking 16.4A continously and for few seconds(maybe spread over some period of time), it exceeded even 19A!

This is for a single 1900XTX from what I can think of.

You should get a PSU which should continously supply around 30A or more I think on the 12V lines and the 12V2 should be atleast 17A I think. A better PSU won't hurt especially for overclocking etc. Try to get atleast 500watts.

I ran a 218 watt psu out of a Compaq PC with my X1800 XL for about 4 months ( no problems ) ...upgraded to a 450 OCZ psu

I also use an Antec NP 480W on my 1800XT, along with a heavily o/c'ed AMD X2, and haven't had any power issues. I use this as a CAD workstation at home, so I problably stress it over a much longer period then your average gamer. The NP 480W is a great PS, but there are others that are a better value these days.

How about a single Railed PSU with just one 12V that has 36@?

I don't really plan on going Crossfire or SLI honestly.

Should be just fine as long asn it's a good brand, my X-connect has 1 12V @ 34A.
