I was just wondering what kind of performance hit I'll get if I was to move from win98 to win2k? Also how does the voodoo5 driver behave under win2k? compatability? Benchmarks and numbers would be helpul. Thx for your reply.
 
not as much of a performance hit, but a lot of compatibility problems and strange lockups and things not working right with my V5 and W2K. I'm talking about Madden Gootball, NHL 2001, Diablo II, Half Life, lotsa a problems there.

Works much much better in win98/winme.
 
In my experience compatibilty under Win2k is no problem at all with the latest V5 drivers. Speed is every bit as good as under Win9X also.
 
for one thing, if you wanna run diablo2 classic in 800x600, win2k has a known unavoidable/unfixable issue with a long delay between the load screens.
