Ok, so I got accepted into Comp Sci grad school in USC and I was wondering if any kind trojan would tell me how they feel about the school, the neighbourhood, etc. Also, I would like to know what you think of the Comp Sci program, professors, etc.

thanks

This is fvcking ridiculous. USC is ranked 8th in USnews and UCLA 21ist and friggin UCLA didn't accept me?? I would think the higher the ranking the more selective the program :(

First of all, US News College Rankings are bullshit. Also, of course UCLA is harder to get into than USC. USC is a private college where many rich people apply, while UCLA is a public one where the real competition is much higher.

I go to USC.
The surrounding area isn't anywhere near as bad as people like to think it is. Last time I checked, UCLA was ahead of USC in rapes and violent crimes.

Unless you live WAY south of campus you won't see people getting shot.

The people here are great, but there's really not that much to do around campus. PM me if you have any questions, we can discuss this away from the prying eyes of the SC haters :)
