Question for UKers

I've always wondered, when you (among many other people) are stuck in a hallway (ie. a school, between classes - mulling about), do people tend to walk on the left side of the hallway?

YES THEY DO!!!

Well at least that's what I noticed when I was there last summer. I was so used to staying to the right side but it's backwards there.

I mean, there's no hard and fast rule, but I saw the majority of the people keeping to the left.

It was hard to get used to!
