Question for those with dual monitors on gaming machines

I've got two 27" Korean panels on my desk, which are flawless and awesome if feeling somewhat cheaply constructed. 🙂

Unfortunately, I don't have the GPU horsepower to run games at 5170x1440 nor do I really want the black bezels down the middle interrupting my vision so I only game on a single panel.

I have noticed in a few games, such as Civ5 and Shogun 2 that the cursor isn't locked the display with the game running. In Shogun 2, if I attempt to scroll the map to the left, the cursor goes off the game and onto the other display, leaving Shogun in an infinite leftward scroll. Civ5 is similar. Is there anyway to to stop that, locking the cursor and control to the main panel, unless I alt-tab?

Do you have a need for the second monitor to be on when playing these games? If not, you can quickly turn it off using the Win+P hotkey. If you do, I'm not sure if there is a fix for this. Make sure you aren't running the game in windowed mode.

Often yes, I'll have Netflix streaming, a DVD playing, or strategy/hint information up in a browser.

I have no problems as a TV for my secondary monitor. I too stream Netflix to a 720p 32" TV I have mounted on the wall.

Have you checked if those particularly problematic games have a fix? I'm guessing it's the particular game, because I seem to recall having no such issues in Starcraft 2 when I had the game full-screen on one monitor and a movie playing in the 2nd monitor.
