Trying to get 1 with 216 cores. And I don't like buying factory overclock because have heard of some that're not stable. Figure I can always oc on my own if I need to.
P.S. I want a dual slot card that blows hot air out and possibly silent as can be. I hate the 8800GT vacuum cleaner squeal.

EVGA is a great brand. XFX has double lifetime warranty.
Why not 4890?

comfy with nvidia and nice rebate on it too.
Also 1 other question.
I have a E6550 2.33ghz default @ 2.8 ghz (can run stable at 3.0 or even 3.13). That won't bottleneck the GTX 260 will it?
Full system:
E6550 @ 2.8
P35-DS3L Rev 2.0 Motherboard
4 GB Gskill DDR2 PC6400 RAM 5-5-5-15 timings

he's comparing a $190 gtx 260 core 216 to a $170 AR 4890. imho, that is a no-brainer choice for 4890. however, as mentioned 5770 is a viable alternative. that card is about 10 % slower than gtx 260 and 20% slower than 4890, but it will have a lower cost of ownership due to incredible power efficiency and should get better and better over time as dx11 becomes more widely available.
personally, I don't give a shit about power usage. I'd buy the 4890.
