Whats even more scary is that Choatic42 doesn't even work at McDonalds anymore and he knows as much.

Got to crash as I have to count inventories @3am in the morning...FUN FUN.
I just started there again when I moved down here to Mississippi last month. I got a performance based raise on the first day. ;)

It seems that every McDonalds I've been to on the West Coast...(Seattle down to San Diego) makes the burgers after I order. I can see the worker look up at the screen to read what I ordered, and then make the sandwhich.

But that is not the case form Mcdonalds in NYC...many times, when I order a sandwhich in that city, they have one already made waiting for me. Odd.

Makes no sense whatsoever.

I think he meant when customers ask for extra cheese or tomatoes and he doesn't ring it up to where it charges for the extra cheese or tomatoes, that he get deducted for it.
For McDonalds, the only ingredients that they will charge EXTRA for are cheese, tomatoes, or course bacons....everything else is FREE.

Maybe corporate says don't charge, but I have been charged 20 cents at 3 different McDonalds for lettuce on a dbl cheeseburger. They could all be the same owner, but they are 50+ miles from each other, so it is'nt likely.

Most stores have something called "Made For You" which introduced the new KVS system and a bunch of other stuff. Basically every order has a window on a monitor in the grill area. It will say something like:

1 Big Mac
2 CHB
-2 w/o Onion

Which means you have to make one Big Mac and two cheeseburgers without onion. Very simple, but if you have someone who sucks at taking orders, or an indecisive customer, it can really screw up production. Some stores have a little overflow built into that. It puts up more food than you really need, in order to compensate for problems. Ours does, anyway.

Sometimes that means that you'll get your food without having to wait, because the people in the back made extra. That pretty much happens everyday, mostly during the lunch/dinner rushes.

Yeah, its really up to the franchise.
If it was up to me, I would do that too, to deter people from trying to make a $1 double cheese into a big mac.

It's ok. They're trying to make me a swing manager, but my cousin is trying to get me a job at the local NASA. If that doesn't work out, and I can't get a decent radio job, I'll go for the managment thing. 3 days per week off would be cool.

For now, I work about 38 hours a week, which is nice. I can hit the gym, read, or just hang out. I've been out more in the last month than in the previous 2.5 years. It's nice.

Some of the people I work with suck, like this guy I had to convince to wash dishes. I made him a fanatic about doing breakfast dishes. I told him that if he stayed a bit late and did extra work on a regular basis, his job would be more secure. ;)

back in season 6 of buffy the vampire slayer they had an episode where buffy worked at a fast food place. the episode was called "doublemeat palace." i heard they got in trouble with their fast food sponsors after airing this and never aired it again. it casted in the industry in a negatove light supposedly. it seemed ok to me though.

was mcdonald's one of the sponsors who got mad? what happened exactly?

How come you guys got rid of the make-your-own-combo thing? Was that just regional? That was great, you could get something other than fries in your combo. Then it just vanished one day and it was back to just fries - which I am trying to avoid.

I heard you can get a McBeer in european mcdonalds.

Yeah, they serve beer in Germany, among other places.

There's a story going `round the net about a New Yorker behind a guy fresh over from Germany in line at McDonald's. The German guy gets to the counter and asks for a beer. The New Yorker laughs at him, and says "You can't get beer at McDonald's!" The German turns to him and says "So you come here for the food??".

:D

Germany is completely different. I know that workers at the BMW plant can order a beer and drink it while working on the line (that's right the employer will sell it to them and allow them to drink it on the job.)

After all that wa said and done, our bottom line NET INCOME was ~$50,000.
Yeah, our NET INCOME was 1.63% of our sales.
Jan is our second slowest month of the year but still.(of course this is a big improvement from last year when we lost $157,000 on $2.6 million in sales.

so that's net income for just the store owner/s right? or does a small percent go to high level managers?

i didn't think that fast food business would be very seasonal. why is that? what's typically your fastest month and how much has ever been made then?

4 Select Strips= .70

You can see the strips cost more cause it uses better quality.

food cost of soda is pennies right?

and some stores charge for extra sauce. is that excluded from ingredients of an item? does sauce cost that much more?
