Each of the new "white meat" nuggets cost 6.5 cents which means about $1.30 for the 20 pieces.
We charges 5.29 which mean its about 25% food cost which is about right.
why did you put white meat in quotes? :Q
Every sign I have ever seen has "white meat" in quotes. It is rather interesting, and leads me to think something is going on with the need to qualify the meat with quotes. *shrug*

CTrain, I'd be interested to know the food cost on those fancy new Chicken Strips that are all breast meat. Down at my local McD's, they are priced ~4.15 for three, so that's about $1.38333 each. Not value, IMO. And what's the food cost on hamburgers? At 75 cents, I always figured either McDonald's was either making a killing on the bigger sandwiches, or taking a loss on the hamburger. And, due to the competition in FF, I had to think the latter. For my money, I'd a lot rather have 11 hamburgers vs. 6 of those Chicken Tenders (for the same price).

Oh, quit with your freakin BS.
I'm a store manager at a McDonalds (as alot of you already know). The meat is 100% beef.
Any stupid rumors you've heard about McDonalds is just that......stupid BS rumors.

Mcdonalds uses some of the top quality for their food.
Instead of using generic brands, McDonalds uses Heinz, Hellmanns, Minute Maid, Nestle, Quaker, etc....
They also have one of the strictest food safety procedures for their restaurants.(Of course its up to the employees to follow them.)

As for the Mac Jr, that was a regional promotion thing to test out how popular a product is.
They do this all the time, if a product sells well in a region, then they will spread it to the whole country.
McDonalds want to focus on a CORE menu , and then bring out a specialty sandwich every so often.
McRibs, Chicken strips, Flatbreads are items that they like to rotate every so often.

The $1 menu is here to stay....the corporation is very high on them.
Their purpose is to keep bringing customers back and the $1 menu does just that.

Any question about McDonalds, I cam pretty much answer them for you.

good to see the millions we spend on propaganda, even within our own corporation, isn't going to waste.

Either:
A. You are the dumbest person ever put in a management position. No member of management would try to destroy the company they work at by saying the stuff you are saying.
B. You are a janitor at McDonalds HQ, thus don't know what you are talking about.

Who are you refering to ? Baboonguy ??
If you are, why would you even think he is in management ?
Nevermind, I see BaboonGuy said he worked in HeadQuarter

Very sorry, I meant the other guy

My cousin who worked at Taco bell told me that when someone said hold the "blank" be it cheese, lettice that the store looses money. If you ring up more than 20 a week then they start to subtract money from your pay check for each customer you have that asked you to not include something. Does McDonalds do the same thing.

Chicken strips are made from 100% chicken breasts, but the nuggets are not 100% chicken breasts.

Just like Wendys, there nuggets are white meat but why did they bother coming out with the Select Strips that sells for more ??
Because the Strips use better quality. Wendys simply can't afford to use just chicken breasts for their nuggets and still sell them for $1.
The nuggets also have a shorter shelf life.

Yes, I work at McDonald's again. Strangely enough there are 3 people pursuing degrees in mathematics at our store.

From what I've heard, the current Large will be the new Super Size, the current Medium will be the Large, and the current McValue size will be the new Medium.

I don't have an official answer on that yet.
I guessing with the negative publicity with that guy and the Supersize thing, they decided to drop the Supersize and come up with something new.
I actually get voicemail on every "current events" that Mcdonalds is doing but I've been deleting everything in sight so I don't know if I ever got a voicemail on the SUperSize thing.

No, McDonald's doesn't do that, and I'm 99.9% sure that your cousin is full of it.

Actually my cousin was serious. I am possitive that he is telling the truth. Maybe his Taco Bell is different than your McDonalds.

For the record. I have a friend who is a supervisor/manager-something at some dairy/poultry processing place in the Midwest. Their business comes from making certain foods look and taste those "special" certain ways for different companies. Like the egg for the Egg-McMuffins vs. the egg for John-Q-Breakfast-Egg-Meal.

Anyway....he was visiting poultry processing plants/farms for all these companies and was relating to me that McD's had the best care for their livestock compared to all the other places he saw, in terms of lowest #chickens per coop, best sanitization, lowest #dead, etc...

Maybe slightly OT, but it just goes to show that McD's isn't any worse than any of the other fast food (and even sit-down) places out there. Employees.....THAT's a different matter, just as CTrain mentioned.

That's crazy. I'd refuse to work taking orders if that were the case.

I am not a food service pro, but I highly doubt that actually happens and it is probably illegal at the most, unethical at the least. I bet it is one of those heresay rumors that trickles around the company.

Whoa....I just found my food cost list and I haven't looked at it for a while.

Big Mac= .54
10 nuggets= .70
20 nuggets= $1.41
Hamburger= .22
4 Select Strips= .70

You can see the strips cost more cause it uses better quality.

I think what he was getting at was any "custom made" item takes more time to prepare which costs the franchise money. I remember at McDonalds it used to be like pulling teeth to get a Big Mac without pickles (write a ticket, wait around etc.) At Wendy's it's not a problem at all.

Makes no sense whatsoever.

I think he meant when customers ask for extra cheese or tomatoes and he doesn't ring it up to where it charges for the extra cheese or tomatoes, that he get deducted for it.
For McDonalds, the only ingredients that they will charge EXTRA for are cheese, tomatoes, or course bacons....everything else is FREE.

NO, most Mcdonalds do not use the BIN anymore....everything is MADE TO ORDER just like Wendys so it doesn't require any extra effort.

With the $1 menu being permanent, I highly doubt you will see much of the $2 for 2 promotion anymore.
Alot of regional McDonalds will market their own promotion but the national $2 for 2 is DEAD.
Our franchise DO NOT participate in the $2 for 2 anymore.

I know so much about McDonalds that it scares me.
Whats even more scary is that Choatic42 doesn't even work at McDonalds anymore and he knows as much.

Got to crash as I have to count inventories @3am in the morning...FUN FUN.
