i placed an order on july 30 for an item and waited for them to ship it. i got email from them on the 4th saying that it was out of stock and would be shipped as soon as possible. i emailed and asked why i was allowed to order something that showed as in stock and then told it is out of stock? was assured it would be mailed out by end of week.

6th comes still nothing, i then request my money back. was told that it was to late that it was sent to shipping even though they had not sent it yet. i sent another email threatening to contact BBB and asking for my refund. was told on the 9th that my refund was approved and to allow 3 day for it to show on my card.

still nothing by the 11th, i then contacted them again asking where my money was? was told they screwed it up and had to reissue it, again!!! is there somewhere or somebody i can contact to get this mess straightened out? has anybody else ever had this much problem with amazon? i order stuff from them all the time and have never had this happen to me before

Amazon isn't in charge of shipping every product, individual companies are for many.

I've had one company that billed me and didn't notify me about anything that was going on (even after a couple of emails, which they didn't respond to.) I finally contacted amazon about it saying something to the effect of "They have charged my credit card, but haven't even bothered to let me know that they received my order, whats the deal?"

Amazon go a hold of them, threatened to refund my payment, and like magic I got contact from them. Though, the employee was rather snarky about it. Their email went something like "We don't have the resources to send an email out to everyone that orders from us." and some other BS about what a terrible customer I was.

I started my effort of trying to contact the company about a month after they billed my credit card. It took about 6 weeks for them to actually ship the package... I don't think I was being unreasonable.

In other words, Some companies on amazon rock, others don't. If you are uncomfortable, contact amazon.

You are dealing with a 3rd Party seller who sells through Amazon. That's your problem.

I typically order items from Amazon that are actually sold by Amazon, and I have never had issues.
Just be careful with the hard drives. I bought some Western Digitals from Amazon, Inc. and the packing was terrible.

I quit ordering through amazon when they sent me a used product that was supposed to be new. I just order my computer goodies through newegg. Never once had a issue with newegg.
