question for thinkpad t40+ owners

Question for thinkpad owners. T40+ and I think R40+

anyhow I'm looking to buy an additional battery. I'm not sure should I get the 9 cell extended battery or the ultrabay slim battery.

which is better? don't factor in price. hoping to get about 6-7 hrs

Its one or the other can't get both.

Original 6 cell + ultrabay slim

or

new 9 cell battery.

IBM sent out a message concerning T40 batteries:

IBM will replace via warranty service
batteries within a certain serial number range. If your battery on a T40
is in one of these ranges, call IBM warranty service at 1-800-IBM-SERV.

There is a known issue with batteries on the T40s. Below are the S/N ranges
of the batteries (not the ThinkPad). If your battery falls in these ranges,
have it replaced via warranty service.
