what fan are you using to cool it with? I want something *low-noise* that will cool an oced t-bred or barton. I looked at the Delta fans, but those are way too noisy. Though I could always use a fan-voltage regulator to slow them down a bit. What do you guys recommend?

How about a YS Tech adjustable-speed 80mm fan? You can find the noise/cooling balance that you like, just twist the knob.

Another vote for the Y.S. Tech adjustable. hat is what i am using and even at full speed the noise is not to bad and as mechBgon said the fan speed is adjustable so you can find a noise/performance setting that you are comfortable with.

Hey.. if you get anything from Thermalright, you can put any fan you want on there and your rig will stay cool. I just installed an SK-7 on a oc'ed 2100+ w/ AS3 and CPU temp stays under 35C under load. I used some 70mm zalman fan. I'd get the quietest fan you can find, because it will stay cool no matter what.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you. While it's a great heat sink it's what I have and I'm running the ys tech adjustable 80mm and while I'm not having temp problems, one of my best friends is. He has a 2100+ that he oc'd to about 2800 and it does get very hot at times. He's in the process of fixing the problem I'll post it when he gets it straight.

I use an old 4500 RPM 70mm fan on my SK-7 and my temps are in the mid 30's when idle, and high 30's to low 40's under load

YS tech fan here too. If you turn it down, it barely audible...and it's still quiet at full speed.

As long as the heatsink is totally level, and AS3 was applied correctly, I can't imagine what fan you use would make a necessary difference. Temps should be under 40 if applied correctly.

That's not really true. I've installed my athlon 1700+,SK-7, and AS3 twice and (both times) I'm running at 50c idle (19c ambient) w/ a panaflo L1A (YS-Tech variable on order).
