Question for the UCLA people here regarding Cell phones

Most cell phone services get really poor reception at UCLA.. I've used my Nextel phone there and get reception most of the time, but it's not very strong. My girlfriend uses verizon and gets pretty solid service, and i've tried AT&T and got really horrible service there.. I was wondering if any of you knew if T-Mobile or Cingular got any decent reception on campus? Especially in the residence halls? Please share your experiences/observations with these two services.. my girlfriend and i are looking around for new cell phones, since her verizon contract is up and their phones cost a fortune, and my last nextel bill was $170 (long story).. 🙂

A bit off topic but are you going to the decemberists free show on thursday? Do you have any info on where you would pick up tickets for it or do they just let you in..?

hmmm.. i'm not going, so i'm not really sure.. sorry.. try contacting the performing arts center, maybe?

Cingular sucks, period. Just go ahead and take them out of the running.

I don't know ANYONE with T-Mobile.
AT&T GSM is pretty fair in LA but Verizon and Sprint are the best all around. They share a few towers so the service quality is on par, but Sprint's billing department is a bunch of neanderthals, so your choice.
