Question for the people who have Yahoo! SBC DSL

There are two plans, 384k-1.5mbps and 768k-1.5mbps.

How often is the speed at low end of the range for the plans? Since the 384k plan is $10 cheaper per month, it's attractive but not if it falls to 384k alot.

And is it like my connection speed could be 1.5mbps one day, and 384k another? or is the speed pretty much stable (low or high)?

I dont think SBC DSL works like that. They assign your line a specific speed, and all contributing factors (distance from CO, line conditions, interference, quality of phone wires, etc) determine the actual speed you get. If you get about 90% of the advertised speed, then your connection is good.

5280ft x 30cm/ft = 158400cm
158400cm x 1m/100cm = 1584m = 1.584km

1.584km is far enough to be 56k? lol

Is that far? hehe

wow, thats pretty good actually. My new house is 13,000 ft from the CO and the max I can get is 160 Kbps. At my old house, I think I was around 8,000-10,000 ft and I was getting 680 or something. Im getting sick of this 160 speed so the Comcast guy is coming out here tomorrow to install the digital cable line...😀

You should be able to get 1.5 mbps with that distance anyway
