What are some good love songs you enjoy? I am making a cd for my wife that we can listen to on our date tonite. We don't get out much since our two kids are very young. I've got about 4 songs right now but am stumped for names and ideas.

GMTA!

I just finished up a 2 CD Valentine's Day Collection for my wife, complete with a couple of pictures from our honeymoon on the CDs.

I don't have my list exactly--but if you tell me what kind of music she likes, I'll try to help you out.

I had about 22 country songs and about 19 rock/alternative songs.

Rudder, what do you have so far? Maybe that will give us some insight as to what you are looking for.

I think a great song for tonight would be My Valentine by Martina McBride. It is very fitting for the occassion!! Have a great date. My husband and I have a 2 year old so I know how rare alone time is!

Bigsmooth and fdiskboy,

She likes Van Morrison so I have some of his songs on there. Got one from Jewel and she also likes country music. Lots of potential there, but I would like it to have lots of variety.

Stuff like Barry White is out.

Hmm honeymoon pictures on the cd... very good idea! Now to find some pics and a cd stomper.

It depends on how old your wife is. :) I have fond memories of a lot of '80s songs because that's when I was dating, but then again, there have been quite a few nice, romantic songs I've heard recently. Some of my favorites:

You're the Inspiration - Chicago
Heaven - Bryan Adams
Follow You, Follow Me - Genesis
I'll Make Love to You - Boyz 2 Men?
Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion
Valentine - Jim Brickman with Martina McBride (good one, TomCsTulip)
The Glory of Love - Peter Cetera
One More Night - Phil Collins
Endless Love - Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross (or you could go for the more recent version with Mariah Carey)

Those are just a few that come to mind - but I like just about all of the slower songs by Phil Collins/Genesis and Peter Cetera/Chicago (I'm 33, if that helps place my taste).

I'm not female, but I'll try to make some good suggestions for love songs.

Beatles - If I Fell In Love With You
Beatles - And I Love Her
Beatles - In My Life
Bee Gees - To Love Somebody
BJ Thomas - Hooked on a Feeling
Tommy James and the Shondelles - Crimson & Clover
Dan Fogleberg - Longer Than
Elton John - (not sure of the song name, but the line is "My gift is my song girl, and this one's for you")
Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes
Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed
Foreigner - Waiting for a Girl Like You
Huey Lewis & the News - Doin it All For My Baby
Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child of Mine (not a traditional love song, but it's a good one)
Monkeys - I'm a Believer
Mr. Big - To Be With You
Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water
Smashmouth - Can't Get Enough of You Baby
The Doors - touch Me (yes it actually is a love song)
The Turtles - Happy Together
Three Dog Night - Just An Old Fashion Love Song

Some of these may seem a little different, but they all are still good songs.
Hope I helped out a little.

Do you two have a song that is 'your song'? Something you enjoyed together while dating/honeymooning, etc? I think she'd like something like that.
