Question for the ladies: How can I tell if a purse is fake or not?

I went shopping w/ my gf at a local mom&pop store. She noticed a bunch of high-brand purses for $65: Kate Spade, Gucci, and I think one other. My gf told me those purses are $200-$300. So, I'd like to get her one, but wondering how to tell if they're fake. (I'll probably get one even if it is fake, cuz they look real to me) 😀
 
If they're that cheap, they're probably fake. My wife will grab a couple of these every time she goes up to NY. She has this strange tendency to tear up purses, so she never bothers buying the expensive ones (the cheap ones are almost as nicely made anyway).

Put something in the purse. If it holds it, then it is a purse. If it falls out, then it's not really a purse.
 
Sorry they are probably fakes. If you want to buy her one, go to a fine department store, maybe you can catch a sale.

It's worth it to have 1 or 2 really nice purses, they will last a long time. I have a lot of less expensive purses too, but if it's going to have a famous name on it, I'd rather have the real thing.
