Question for the consumer.

This is a question to you, the consumer. Why is it that you people think that because due to your negligence and your wrong doings you deserve to have a brand new phone given to you free of charge just because you use T-Mobile or whatever carrier that you use?

I have customers come in here all the time telling me I?m stupid and that it?s ridiculous that we would charge to upgrade their phone. They think the phones grown on trees and that it should be free no matter what happens. Even if they break, drop, drop it in water, smash it, that they deserve a brand new phone, FREE! That?s like me saying ok well today I want a new car, I?m gonna go ram my car into a wall so I can get a new one!

I don?t understand the everyday consumer. I don?t think that I?ll be able to get a new Sony V1 digi cam if I drop and break mines today. ERRRRRRRRRR

Sorry I had to rant.

I can't speak for all consumers but Saturday night I got pushed into the pool with my $200 cell phone in my pocket. I read through the warranty and it said it didn't cover "flood" damage but I figured I might as well ask/see if I could get it replaced. Turns out my battery has a "wetness" indicator that turns pink if it gets wet. I didn't push the issue any further or demand that it be replaced. (However, my phone seems to have come out of it's coma - the first day after the screen started blinking. The second day the phone worked but the screen didn't. I tried it earlier today and the phone seems to work perfectly now. Good for me, I guess)

But back to your question: it's just Americans have become such pansies in expecting things from stores and that the "customer" is always right. I've worked retail and I've had people try to return 3 year old desks and get b1tched out because I didn't return it. You just have to learn to deal with it

Why is it that you always bitch about people who visit your sales kiosk and talk about how stupid and annoying they are, yet still complain that you don't sell very many phones?

Yes, customers are greedy and stupid sons o' bitches but they're still paying your salary. Give them whatever liberties that you can under the provisions of your employer and be done with it.

I'm always nice, I'm never hostile. I've never had anyone complain to my boss, ever. ::knocks on wood::

Anyhow, I work in a very poor area. Majority of the people who live around here are on welfare. It is a very low low class neighborhood. It isn't even a middle class neighborhood.

I guess you would have to be in my shoes to understand it. I'm just saying people come here and expect me to give them a brand new phone when they should know better that it costs money for something new like an upgrade. Don't you think? I explained it nicely to her. I told her the cheapest upgrade I have is $150.00 and that it would be way cheaper if she went through calling her customer care. That is when she told me I was stupid and that it is so stupid that they have to pay for a new phone.

Ah, you hadn't explained that.

I hate stereotyping but I know what you mean. Both the very rich and the very poor have it in their heads that because they are extremely advantaged or disadvantaged, they are entitled to extra liberties for whatever reason. They have no concept of "All customers are equal" because they don't understand equality.

In that case, just slug them in the crotch with a brick. That'll show 'em.

Nocturnal, some people just don't get it and never will.

There's nothing you can do to help these folks.

For many of them, that's why they're on welfare in the first place.

Focus your energies on problems that you *can* solve.

Haha not a bad idea. Thanks for listening and giving me sound advice. I just needed to rant and this is a place I visit all too much. I wanna just take pics of this place. I think I'm going to right now. bRB>

Well if people can get free things, might as well try, huh? Doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense, they'll try anyway.

True. I guess in their head they're thinking, "It doesn't hurt to try!" And when all else fails call the salesman stupid and tell him his idea of charging people is stupid as well!!!!!!!
