SirStev0...you have no clue what I was asking, and honestly I dont think you have a clue what your even ranting about, so just shut up..you are the dumbass not me.

Vic..I asked my question because I wanted to know how would a Christian feel if there is a God and heaven, just not the one they believe in..why the hell is that such a reach to think it couldnt happen?

When you die and arrive at the pearly gates <---I mean Heaven, what would you do if you were met there by the Islamic prophet Muhammad and also by Jesus and.....

Jesus tells you that you and all the other Christians were wrong, that he is not the son of God that Christianity is not the correct religion and that Muhammad had it right and if you wanted to enter heaven you had to accept the fact that Islam is the religion of God (Allah) and Muhammad was the real deal.

WWYD? (what would you do?)

and no, this isnt some devils trick or Jesus's way of tricking you into testing your faith so those kind of answers dont count ;)

If allah is God then Jesus isnt, then Jesus wouldnt be meeting anyone at the pearly gates...
If Jesus is God then he will be sittign on the throne to the right of his father.

Either way he wont be meeting anyone at the pearly gates.

god damnit people look something up before you make a claim. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

claiming yourself to be an atheist or an agnostic automatically disqualifies you to offer an expert opinion on any religion. which is no different than ATOT having said that religious people are unqualified to comment on areas of science.

Is there a point to answering?
Lets think about this... im already dead. my afterlife fate is already decided. For a split second im going to realize that i was wrong my whole life... and then either go to heaven or hell based on what allah thinks of my earthly life.

I support my decision based on...
Revelation 3
15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm?neither hot nor cold?I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

I believe it is better to have an opinion, be strong & steadfast...
Rather than to be weak and questioning at every turn.

I believe what you believe because it is full fledged faith... questioning the faith is a sign of weakness... you may say its blindness... I say its boldness.
Now you answer mine...[/quote]

I am simply asking because I want to know what is more important... the belief in Jesus and thus Christianity, or the belief in an afterlife and thus God in any form.

Okay. let me help you. Allah is god. God is Allah. Mohammad was a prophet. Islam's believe jesus was the son of god. Mohammad was a teacher, Jesus was a teacher and the son of god. Mohammad came about 500 years after Jesus. I just can not comprehend how you can be so ignorant about something and yet post like you do.

and I may be mistaken but I think Islam states that Jesus was a prophet, not the actual son of God.

I hardly disagree. You can have opinions, you should just know what you are talking about before spouting it as truth.

No, he is the son of god in both religions. Some Jewish sects believe jesus to be a prophet and not the son. Islam came about a few years after Jesus, they believe he was the son of god.
I suggest next time ask the question you wanted rather then making claims about things you obviously do not know.

"Such was Jesus, the son of Mary; it is a statement of truth, about which they vainly dispute. It is not befitting to the majesty of God, that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, ?Be' and it is" (Quran 19:34-35).

Since I' a Muslim, I will answer leftyman's OP, inter-changing Muhammad (pbuh) and Jesus. If I was told at the Pearly Gates that everything I knew about God (as per my Islamic beliefs) was false and I would have to acknowledge Jesus as my Savior, I would play the "this has got to be some kind of a test" card. (Sorry, I know this is against the rules in the OP :p)

I don't exactly remember what Quranic passage/hadith this comes from...but was taught during my childhood that God will test people in all sorts of unique ways. If you, for instance, deny Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and say, "I stand corrected, Jesus is my savior and the Son of God. Now let me in", God will probably laugh in your face, remind you how quickly you abandoned your beliefs & rejected him on HIS turf, and throw you in Hell.

Are you serious? You made me laugh out loud, at work. Please. not while I'm at work, you'll get me in trouble!

To limit peoples available areas of expertise based on their religious views is completely asinine. What if some christian or islamic dude has an amazing idea on how to cure AIDS or completely rid the world of cancer? What if an atheist found an awesome link between the major religions in the world that could quite possibly eliminate 85% of all religious violence?

You sir, have no clue. Are you one of those people who honestly believe that humans need to be segregated based on belief system, or even better, race?

What.
A.
Joke.

Islam started with the prophet ibrahim (Abraham) and his firstborn Ishmail, long before mohammed or Jesus was ever born. A minority of muslims (a certain sect of the sunni) do believe that Jesus was both a prophet and the messiah, the remaining believe in the Mahdi as the messiah.

I'd ask for an audience with The Father to verify (if Jesus is telling the truth, then He wasn't from The Father, and if Jesus was lying, then it's not Jesus; either way I'd need a second confirmation).

If The Father confirmed it, I'd look Him square in the eye and say, "God, you gave us insufficient evidence!"

Because God is God. How is that such a reach to understand? A thing does not change because different people call it by different names, or approach it with different interpretations. It's still the same. As Freud said, "A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet." Beliefs have nothing to do with reality. Either God is or God is not, no one's beliefs make the slightest bit of difference.

And (giving your hypothesis the benefit of the doubt it doesn't deserve) a "good Christian" would react with "Thy will be done," as I already posted. That's what faith is.
Consider the enemy of these religions, Satan or Shaitan. Both mean "the Accuser." The one who doubts the wisdom of God. OTOH, the good follower of God accepts His will, regardless of what that will is.

It's as simple as if Jesus said he was the Son of God and he is, then Islam cannot be the correct religion because Islam takes Jesus only as a prophet.

One is right, the other is wrong - they can't both be right.

More importantly, a God of goodwill will not deceive his followers with a lie. We're tested in other ways, I suppose, but not by God lying to us.

In essence the question is moot, everybody awards the OP zero points, and we're all dumber for having to think about OP's question.

While I believe this statement, I bet you would find that many people consider it heretical.

and I believe that the greater the "belief in God" that people profess, the more your statement rings false to those people.

lets put it this way...someones faith is wrong and will realize that eventually or every faith is correct and should realize it now.

sorry you cant or wont realize that.

I agree that there's no difference between the two. They're both equally idiotic.
