Question for Sacramento, CA people

So here's the deal:

I'm a UC Davis student and the girl is a Sac State student. I met her at a friend's place, but only talked to her for about five minutes. She added me on Facebook and I've talked to her a fair bit online. One day she was telling me about how she has issues dating because she intimidates most Sac State guys because she's too intelligent. Whatever. So, I asked her out and she agreed.

Anyway, my problem is that I have little familiarity with Sac and have no idea where to take her. I'd appreciate any suggestions keeping in mind that I barely know her. We're both over 21.

Thanks guys (and girls).

Take her to the Crocker Art Gallery for her mind. Then take her across the street to Tower Bridge and drown her.

J street in downtown Sacramento. lots of bars etc.... just dont venture into the gay area, she might get the wrong impression of you

Restaurant ideas would be good too. There doesn't have to be alcohol involved.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming. =)

are you going out tomorrow? It's Second Saturday in downtown Sac & surrounding areas. All the art galleries are open later than normal and the sidewalks usually have artists & musicians doing their thing. All the restaurants/bars/clubs are a little more packed on 2nd Saturday. Don't know if your girl is the artsy type though.

wtf?!?

He's afraid she is going to intimidate him and he wants to keep his senses about him.

I don't want to give the impression that I'm trying to get her drunk.

Edit: Besides, drinks get expensive.

I haven't been there in several years, but "The Rusty Duck" restaurant used to be a nice quiet place for dinner. Good food, great wine list, nice atmosphere.

edit: Never mind...they closed last year. 🙁

This. Second Saturday is awesome. For food, I recommend Tapa the World- the tapas are really good, and you don't have to spend that much money. It's very close to where 2nd Saturday happens, but IIRC it's not right in the middle of it.

edit: If you end up staying out late, head over to Rick's Dessert Diner- huge slices of cake that are fun to share.
