Question for runners

After taking a rather long break, I've started running again. So far, it's going pretty well. I can run for 20-25 minutes without stopping, and I'm not really feeling any pain. Not bad for someone coming off a long period of almost complete inactivity. However, the problem I'm having is that I'm getting horrible chafing on my inner thigh. I didn't really think about that and just threw on a pair of windpants over my boxer briefs, but they chaf horribly. What do you wear to get around this? Are compression shorts the best way to fix it, or is something else better? Any particular brands to watch out for?

I've been training for a marathon for the past few months and had the same problems as you when I first started but haven't turned to switching out my shorts yet.

For starters, keep that area clean and dry. After showering, you could use a blow dryer but I just wrap a hand towel down thurr as I'm shaving, brushing my teeth, etc. From time to time, I'll apply rubbing alcohol to the whole area. It'll hurt like hell but it helps. Before running, you could also try using some Body Glide. I mostly use it for my nipples but I imagine it would have the same effect on your thighs.
