Question for Political Conservatives

I?m just wondering if you would consider your self to be religious or rich? The reason I even ask this question is it seems to be a popular belief that all members of the Republican Party are either rich or religious fanatics. I was just wondering what the percentage was on ATOT. BTW I?m a Republican and have been since I started voting, but I am neither rich nor religious.

I'am not rich..but the dem's think anybody making 50k is rich. I feel that neither party is serving the US well at this point and as we vacillate from one party to the other..we are in decline. Our political system is choked with voter apathy and two parties that no longer have America's best intrest at heart. From Enron to boarder jumpers it's a system in serious moral and social decay. The path of least resistance seems to be the prevailing attitude with many, indicated by a unwillingness to do the hardwork and homework to excell. I offer no solution..just this observation.

Funny, though, I can't think of any Democrat on Capitol Hill that isn't a millionare...

I'm think I'm politically conservative, and I'm agnostic and not very wealthy.

I'm also not a Republican though. I've been voting with the Libertarian party for the past three years, and I've even voted for some 'Democrats' who seemed to have the same agenda as me.

I had my doubts about George W. Bush -- and didn't vote for him (Ralph Nader instead) -- but I've been very impressed. He's not always graceful, but he's more aggressive and straightforward than most politicians I've seen.

Are you asking fiscal conservatives, or social conservatives, or those who are both fiscally consevative and socially conservative?

I am a fiscally conservative, socially liberal libertarian.

I'm non-religious, and upper middle class.

I was raised middle class, and have, at one time, been a drug addict and homeless.

<< Care to add that option to the poll ? >>

Did you read what this post was about? I want to know what political conservatives think. If you don?t consider yourself conservative I don?t want to know what you are. 😉

There fixed it another choice. 😀

<< Ah yes, I'm actually socially conservative and fiscally liberal...I'm told that makes me an authoritarian... >>

Or a poor puritan. 😉

Don't consider myself rich, but with the old lady working now I guess we're in the top 5% of wage earners. I have been a conservative atheist for a long time.

Me:
  • Fiscally Conservative
  • Heavy Handed Law & Order
  • Beleive in God
  • Not Religious
  • Socially Liberal
  • Legalize Prostitution, Gambling and Marijuana
  • Friend Of ALL Businesses
  • Despise Unions
I'm always going to vote for the party that caters to cultivating businesses, which create jobs. One of the top priorities of government should be to help, NOT hinder, business and jobs. And I don't consider public employment a step toward that goal. Government jobs are a necessary evil that should be kept at a minimum, just like welfare!

I don't particularly care who heads the GOP ticket, only that he passes or vetoes legislation that meets my goals. For example, I would have expected Gore to pass the steel tariffs, but not Bush. I voted for the party that should have blocked those tariffs, but it didn't pan out. At least he makes the right decisions on 9 out of 10 other issues, IMO of course! 😉

I seem to be a republican because they (to me) seem to be more straight forward and dignified. When a Democrat talks, you really have to wonder what he or she means. Take Clinton for example who lied under oath. Look at Gore, who after losing Florida started whinning to anyone who would listen. He was trying to undermine the entire system. If that had happened to me, I would have been VERY upset, but I would NOT have tried suing people and trying to change the outcome. Because of that, it has made me despise Democrats. They complain about tax breaks because the would "benefit the rich". I don't care. If I get $500 off on my taxes, that's $500 off! I don't care if some rich person out there gets $50,000 off. Democrats have a way of twisting what others say to make it look bad. While republicans do this as well, they do it far less often. Clinton and Gore have ruined the Democrats for me. They were both **** poor examples of leaders.

"They were both **** poor examples of leaders"

I hate to tell ya, but Clinton was one of the best Republicans we ever had in the White House. After his wife got her ass handed to her on the national health care issue, he got right in line. He went from a "moderate" Democrat straight to a middle of the road Republican! 😀
