Hey all,

I was wondering if this sounded like a good idea or not...

I have a AquaStealth II kit and everything seems ok but my reservoir gets really warm after a while. Ive been thinking of ways to cool it down when it hit me.

Could I get a little frig or freezer and put the reservoir in it?? What kind od temps do you think I'll get? If I did this, I think I would get a externel pump to pump the water.....

Ideas? Comments?

It'll help alot, especially if you put a fan on the rad in the fridge. check out the article at www.overclockers.com look on the left of the home page for water cooling, go there, then to Big Lar @ 1007, thats how I used to cool my water, there are pics there. I now have the freezer section of the dorm fridge, dropped right down into the fluid, but thats not for everyone. :)

In the first pic, the two hoses that go up near the top somewhere, what are those hooked on??? Also, if I go to like homedepot or Lowes, what should I look for in a mini fridge?

The 2 hoses go to another rad I had in the freezer section, then out from there to the cpu, I would just look in the paper for a used dorm fridge, should be able to pick 1 up for under a 100 :)

Would I keep my 120mm on it? What should I use to cut holes in the side with?

They need a FAQ for stuff like this!

What I did= I used, and still use, a Radio Shack 110v 120mm fan, and I drilled holes in the side of the fridge, nothing there but cardboard insulation anyhow.

Have you seen the evaporative cooling towers? I think energy conservation wize (especially in rolling blackout land) is major. I think for one extra fan you can get a form of active cooling that probably works pretty good. I have been toying with the idea of a desktop aquarium model of something similar, if I ever make it I will share results.

Here is the link to the evaporative cooling tower link.......HardOCP forum
