Hi all,

I recently bought a Gigabyte nforce 4 Ultra and it works fine appart from the sound!

When I connect my 2.1 speakers the automatic jack sensing software sees them as a "Stereo line in" which doesn't seem right(?). And the only sound that comes out is very quiet and from the left speaker only. It is exactly the same when using headphones from the front audio out - only the left headphone gets any sound and it is very quiet.

The only thing I can think of that I could have done wrong is maybe I connected the front audio cables to the motherboard incorrectly and shorted something - is that possible? The strange thing is, I removed all the cables to the front audio ports and now no sound comes out of the speakers at all...

Does anyone have any ideas what may be wrong?

Put the jumpers back on and plug your speakers into the back, directly into the mb. Perhaps the plugs are reversed. The rear audio won't function w/o the jumpers though.

Yes, you might have mis-wired the front audio. No worries, read the manual and try it again.
