So i have a newly built system w/ a P182. I have 4 SATA HDDs all in the lower cage. Needless to sya there's a good bit of wire clutter and all in that cramped little section of the lower compartment. Will that one middle fan provide enough cooling, or is it a good idea to add an intake fan in front?

Combined with the PSU, it should be enough. Could check your HDD's temps using speedfan, mine hover around 30c.

Hmm, mine's hovering at around 48-50C with switch set to low (feels like summer where I live). Will try bumping that higher, but if it doesn't do any good, I'm also in search of a a silent 120mm fan that's better than the TriCool.

there's a few good 120mm fans that are better then the tricools, on low the tricools aren't that bad btw, but at medium/high there are definately better fans that push the same or more CFM whilst creating less noise. 50c isn't to high for a HDD btw, but I wouldn't want them much higher. My ambient temps are 20c btw, if that, maybe 18-19c. One of the HDD's barely runs though, the samsung spinpoint t166 500gb is known to be cool running as well.

Hmm, I'd say ambient temp is around 24-28C. I'm really not comfortable with the 50C as I've had two hard drives that have gone kaput which I suspect is due to heat.

I have also filled up the lower HD rack with a Raptor 150 and 3 500GB WD Drives. I have the angled connectors and did some funky routing to get them out of the way but anyway, I have a Nexus fan (lol orange fan) down there and my 4 drives are usually around 32-35C which is very chilly. My Raptor 74 is sitting by its lonesome in the upper HD rack next to my 8800GT but that shouldn't be too much of a problem since I put on an Accelero and Turbo Module.

I Dremeled my P180 and put a fan in front of the 4 HDDs in the lower cage. I am using the Sunbeam Rheobus to control the lower and well as the upper HDD cage fans.
