I am building a computer for my co-worker. I checked out newegg since so many people here buy from them. The price plus shipping looks really good. If not for tax, it would be super cool, but even with tax its still better than local stores prices.

The main question is, how is the return policy? I just worry if a part goes bad, I have to go thru lots of hassel returning it back to newegg.

Newegg is incredible, you can't piece together systems cheaper from any other single or multiple etailers, it's too bad you live in state cause that would drop your bill considerably, but look at it this way, you're so close you'll most likely get it overnight, I on the other hand have to wait 3-5 days for overnight service but i can't complain, cheap. Oh and as to they're RMA they usually want you to deal with manufacturers but some of it is under them, just check with them, even call them up if you are really worried, they're friendly and responsive, never had a problem with anything from them...
 
From what I've heard, returns are pretty easy with newegg.

You email for an RMA number, then wait for their response. I have to return a PSU that came with my case, got an RMA with no problem.

 
Over at www.resellerratings.com Newegg has a score of 6.5/7. This is pretty damn good. For those who voted on how easy the returns were, they got an 8/10. That is far better than most online retailers. Newegg is a good and reputable company. You won't be dissapointed.
 
Newegg is fantastic. Easiest return policy I've ever seen. Used it many times myself and never had a problem. I sent a couple of Maxtor D740x's back for being too loud one time.
 
Newegg is the stuff... one of the most complete computerhard ware sites online.


Return is pretty easy as people have said.

ordered on the 7th got it and found gigabyte screwed me on the 8IRX so i ordered the 8IRXP from googlegear and returned the gigabyte and got a full refund

thats a good company

I would call for the RMA. People have had problems with e-mail RMAs. Call them, request for the RMA, then they e-mail you with the RMA numbers, and you send the stuff back. EASY!
 
They sent me the wrong Fans the one time.... I RMA'd them back, and it was 2 weeks before, I got the ones I originally ordered... I'm on the east cost though... So, It took a week to get there, a couple of days to check it out, and a week to get the fans back... Sucks, but I was patient, and got what I ordered, eventually.... Thing is the fans that I did get, were fans I ordered in another order, so, for some reason the orders got crossed...

Understandable mistake, and I have no real complaint about it... Its the only flaw I have ever had with New Egg, and with about 20 other orders, they have all been flawless...

I have had a return problem with newegg.com once. The sound card I ordered from them was somehow defective. I said I would like to exchange it with a new one. But then the person on the phone said that it would be better if I just get a full refund. I said.... ok. Then after 1 day I shipped the sound card to them, I changed my mind and requested for an exchange instead. I gave them another call but then this time they said they already refunded me for my money and cant do anything otherwise. I was like........ USPS couldnt have shipped that fast..... not in 1 day. (from WA to CA)

Anway, I got my refund back and I ordered from them again. I just had to pay shipping......... twice
