Question for Newegg (and to other on-line vendors as well)

Having recently bought another refurbished mobo from Newegg, and having received it without backplate, cables, accessories (as advertised), I cannot help but wonder what happens to the accessories that were returned. Newegg points out that these refurbished products have been returned from other customers but surely Newegg and others don't pitch the accessories, and surely they don't accept motherboards back without the accessories, so what happens to them?

The mobo I bought was an Asus A7N8X non-deluxe. The mobo works fine but I need a backplate and gameport. An email to Asus brought a reply that all of their products are sold only through distributors. An email to Newegg brought a reply that everything they have for sale are listed on their site but these items are not listed. So where does one turn for them. Who has custody of the extra parts? Should I buy a new motherboard and then return it without the extras. Anyone have any ideas?

I've got an idea; pay attention to detail(s) next time and think beyond the "price".

I would say return it, but i don't think newegg will except it...

They might do and exchange for the exact same item... (May-b a retail one?)

Good Luck.

John - you completely missed my point. I knew it didn't come with any accessories, Newegg makes it clear on their site. I'm not whining because I don't have them but there should be some way to get them after the fact. I'm not faulting Newegg for not shipping it with the board, just asking where the extras go that are returned with the boards. Why doesn't Asus make them available separately? Anyone know?

Actually, with Asus I think Newegg does use refurbished boards. I know they almost always just sell other peoples returns but they actually buy refurbished boards from Asus to sell. Asus packages them this way. Plain white box no accessories.

When people send in their boards to be RMAd i think they're told to just ship the motherboard and nothing else. At least that's what ABIT told me when I had to send in a KX7... maybe that's why.

In my original post I quoted part of your initial statement, and you have intentions of defrauding newegg.

If it hasn't been more than a month, I would definitely return it. They always tell you to return everything in its original condition, so I don't get why they would just send you the motherboard without the accessories...

Because he purchased a refurb motherboard at a discounted price. The description clearly stated:

Accessory items are NOT INCLUDED with refurbished products. Accessories are shown in the pictures so that customers will know what is missing from the item.

My comment concerning buying a retail board and returning it less the accessories was a sarcastic remark made in jest. I have no intentions of trying to defraud Newegg, they, along with a couple of other vendors, have been very good sources for me and I value that relationship. Thanks, bjc112, LostHiWay, boyRacer, and emjem for the positive comments.
