Question for networking experts...

After installing a NIC in Win98SE, Network Properties has an option called "Primary Network Logon". I've become accustomed to setting this to "Windows Logon" because most users are confused when "Microsoft Family Logon" prompts for a password. There is also an option for "Client for Microsoft Networks".

What are the differences between the options? What features am I missing when I make a particular selection?

I've tried to figure out the purpose of Microsoft Family Logon. As far as I can tell, I can put in any user name and it creates a user profile that other passwords are associated with (dialup accounts, web browser stored passwords, etc). If someone tries a password on this screen (usually not knowing what to do), the password is automatically assigned to the profile. Is this correct?

Primary Network Logon
-Client for Microsoft Networks
-Microsoft Family Logon
-Windows Logon

Yes, me too. I'm just wondering what reasons there might be for having the other two options. Surely there must be some compelling reason for the default selection to be "Microsoft Family Logon". I'm not even sure if I really understand what Microsoft Family Logon is good for...especially when you can press Esc to bypass the "login" screen.
