Question for my Republican friends.

I get it. You believe the rich should keep more of what they make. You beleive that the the rest of us should pay more in taxes. You believe that things like higher education should not be government subsidized. You believe that the government should not mandate safe drugs, cars, products, etc.

So, my question is if we institute your ideas and the middle class shrinks to a tiny level, if a large majority of Americans can no longer afford higher education, a house, health care, etc. Will that be good for America? And what will America be like?

They are your friends?

Not sure if serious. You started a thread with quite a few strawmen, then proceeded to assert your own conclusions which do not even necessarily follow from your faulty premises. Maybe you should stay away from the computer until after the election. For your own sake.

It would be a paradise. All this rampant Socialism needs to stop. All these freebies like police/fire fighters/public schools/medicaid/disability ect. need to stop being handed out free of charge. These are the sort of things that should all be either privatized or disbanded. When you give the incentive of profit, people work harder and everything becomes better.

Education likewise only makes the masses harder to control and gives them a self entitlement mentality. I've said before that if we just derailed the failing public school system and ensure only the families with the most values get education (private school) then we could enjoy a slew of benefits We could save money, teach the next generation hard work ethic and we will have a competitive workforce again that can undercut any country in the world. It's win-win.

You've mistaken Republicans for the most radical Libertarians. Republicans long ago agreed with the Democrats that most Americans are far too stupid to make their own decisions and that exercising great power, deciding which industries prosper and which fail, and generally spending literally tons of money we don't have is fun and rewarding. Incoming Republicans may still have some faith in their fellow Americans, but the vast majority takes only two to six years in D.C. before they are effectively Democrats.

Amazing how the less time politicians spend around the average Joe, the more they "realize" just how much smarter are they themselves.

That describes coastal California pretty well. I'm guessing the conservative version would be similar but with more Walmarts, gun shows, and NASCAR.

False, the Republicans have cut your taxes more than the Democrats have.

Troll thread?

I get it.

No, I dont believe you do.

You believe the rich should keep more of what they make.

I believe the current tax rates are fair.

You beleive that the the rest of us should pay more in taxes.

Sort of. I believe those who currently pay no tax should pay SOMETHING (of course Im talking federal, not state/sales/etc). Even if its just .5%.

You believe that things like higher education should not be government subsidized.

Incorrect on higher education.

You believe that the government should not mandate safe drugs, cars, products, etc.

Incorrect.

So, my question is if we institute your ideas and the middle class shrinks to a tiny level, if a large majority of Americans can no longer afford higher education, a house, health care, etc. Will that be good for America? And what will America be like?

My question to you is, where the fuck did you get your ideas about Republicans? From a few fringes? Because I believe you honestly dont know based on this post.

Why do you assume that the middle class will shrink. Maybe the rich will all go bankrupt from lawsuits caused by selling unsafe drugs, cars, and other products?

I see a lack of outrage at Romney paying 14% taxes (while middle class folks are paying higher) and wanting to cut his taxes even further. Not a strawman at all. I see very little outrage from the right about that.

Since 45% pay 0 or less I find your statement unlikely.

Did you not notice the other thread? Romney pays no taxes.

Quit trying to deceive us with your 14%.

That might be because 45% pay zero or less in taxes.

If you want to be the most accurate you should consider what's called effective tax rate. As a result the bottom 50% are only able to maintain 2.4% of all net worth in this country, yet have an effective tax rate of 6.7%. The top 1% control something like 43% of all net worth yet have an effective tax rate of 21%. The thing is when the rich are taxed a little more, they don't even notice it because it affects them so little. But when you make next to nothing, if you're taxed a lot ... you fucking DIE you jackass!

Of course talking about net worth with regards to taxation is totally relevant because taxes are based off that... oh wait🙄

Incorrect, people are taxed with listed exemptions. Then at the end of the year the tax code has deductions, poor people get a lot comparably, so do rich people.

The whole pay zero tax is bullshit. They may have a net zero or get a refund based in deductions, but they pay tax.

They only pay taxes if they are too stupid to adjust their withholding, if you even want to count that as paying taxes 🙄

Got any stats on death due to taxation? On a side note, if you have stats for deaths due to starvation and deaths due to exposure in the U.S. I would find those interesting, but they're not really relevant to the questions I'm going to ask.

What do you feel would be an equitable and fair distribution of wealth in the nation? How much should each individual get? Just briefly, what sort of system do you think would fairly redistribute that wealth? Equal distribution across the board? Newborns to those on their death beds? Should those here illegally share in the largesse? Would one need to contribute to society to receive their fair share and if they chose not to, how should they be compensated?

Would you agree with the following statement? From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

This is comedy gold right here.

All i can say is if i had 500 million dollars and you wanted to take half in taxes. I wouldnt care. Why? Because im still fucking rich at 250 million dollars 🙂 Plus its most likely these "poor" people on the bottom that got me where im at by buying some product or service im offering. So me giving back to the people that made me doesnt bother me. Im more then willing to pay 50% in taxes if need be.

Now i only make 60k a year, but ill take the 50% taxes and 250 million a year and not complain vs. where im at now. So i will gladly take on that tax burdon so the rest of you dont have to 😛
