Question for my Aussie friends out there -

It's one of my favorite tennis venues to watch along with the US Open - was wondering if it gets a lot of press attention over there. Our U.S. Open doesn't get much compared to other sporting events like the Superbowl, World Series, or the NBA finals.

Well atm on chanel 7 is the Aust Open, Chanel 9 is the VB 1 day criket series. The tenis gets a lot of attention in Melbourne, and the criket is played in different cities, but both get a lot of press and public attention. If there is one thing Aussies love, its sport! 😀

It gets a fair amount of attention, it's televised on national tv and gets pretty good ratings. Tennis just isn't as popular as the other sports.

I don't love sports, most people I know, including my family, aren't into sport. there are large numbers of Australians who are bored and/ or disgusted at the high presence of sports related bullsh1t in the mainstream media, on TV, etc. 😉

Of course it is huge over here, it is one of the few major international events that we don't have to stay up until 6 am to watch.
