So when you guys and gal(s) get your hands dirty on the weekend, working on your car, in the garden, home improvements, etc. I can never get all of the dirt out from under my fingernails. I scrub and scrub, soap with pumice, dish soap, bar soap, but I can never seem to get it all. Now don't get me wrong, my hands are clean but just never look the same as before until a few days later.

So my question: Do you wear your hands like a badge when you go back to work on Monday? I know I do, as I go back to being a nerd IT guy when most people as in my coworkers haven't done any work outside in months.

My dirty schedule is inverted. I am dirty during the week (I work on construction sites), and enjoy being clean over the weekend.

Just take an old tooth brush and some soap and get under your nails.

Works every time, whenever I work on cars.

I wear gloves for the dirty work, and I do plenty of it. My hands are full of callouses and scars, but if I'm not actually working in the dirt, at least they're clean.

I don't really care what people think about my dirty fingernails. :)

I wear gloves when greasing the tractor/implements and usually when handling fuel (gets on my nerves to smell it on my hands all day), but I don't wear gloves when gardening. A big glob of Gojo on DRY hands (doesn't work with wet hands very well), with a brush, will remove almost anything. I just got a special cream that you put on your hands before doing dirty or greasy work, that makes everything you get on your hands wash off really, really easily (it's a little waxy), but I forget to use it most of the time.

keep your nails short and use soap and brush on the nails. Even then you won't likely get everything but who cares.

I go in with dirty hands, show them to all the honeys, ask for a date and then go and wash my hands.

Cut your nails or use a brush.

Or use the old secret - before you start scrape you nails over some soap so their is a protective soap barrier.

Also - GOOP is a life saver for cleaing your hands.

gojo, and lava for anything stubborn. I have also found that a brass brush works better than nylon.

To hades with Gojo! Simple Green, in my experience, kills grease from my 17-year-old Subaru far better than most hand cleaners do.

I just spray it on, rub it in, and use a plastic kitchen scrubber to get into the cracks and creases of my hands. I keep my nails short and use a soft-bristled brush to clean them.

Keep your fingernails short. Dig out the bulk with something (knife, nailfile). Then GoJo pumice with a scrub brush (Google hand and fingernail brush).
