Question for Mcafee users

I have never really used it but if you buy a mcafee cd and you install it do you have a key code that you have to enter for it to work or does it just somehow have that info integrated into the cd? If you download it is it a stand alone installer that you can keep on a cd or your HD and reinstall it any time? Or is it like norton where it installs from a website and you have to go back to the website to reinstall it? Can you redownload it for free? Or do you get emailed a keycode that you can just enter into a trial version?
 
I have McAfee Corp 8.0 ... it did not ask for anything to install or run
Just clicked on setup and that was it ... retail versions may be different
 
Did you download it form their website? Was it an exe that had the whole program or did it install directly from the website? Did you have to log into the mcafee website to download it?
 
No I did not get it from the website ... company that my brother works at
gives employees a copy of the .exe file for them to use on their home or
laptop pcs, as some people take work home to do or remote in from home.
