Question for Laptop chargers

Hello all!

To keep it short, I am wondering if I can safely use the ac adapter/power supply that my job gave me to replace my personal one that is breaking.

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6 and the laptop the other charger is coming from is a HP 635. I know that the one from the 635 will charge my dv6 slower, but is it safe?

Here are pictures from the two power supplies:

The dv6

The 635

Sorry about the extra large images and blurriness.

The new charger won't charge your personal laptop 'slower', if the capacity of the new charger (<65W) isn't enough for your laptop then it wouldn't work.

They are both 18.5V, so it is safe to use. Which laptop came with the 65W and which came with the 120W?

My personal laptop, which is more of a gaming laptop and is MUCH more powerful, came with the 120W (dv6). My boss has plugged it in before and it seemed to charge, but didn't want to use it in case it might mess things up.

What would the differences be?

Your 65W charger will definitely charge the battery more slowly than the 120W did. It might not be able to charge the laptop while powered on, or might not be able to fully power the laptop while in gaming. It should be safe to use though.
