I have a I will KK266+R and friend of mine has KK266R. I built both the system with 1.33 Athlon with recommended fan and heat sink. None is overclocked. VIA hardware monitor shows CPU temperature 3/4 degrees higher when the computer is idle (like left alone overnight). when I get in the morning and start working the tem comes down. Anyone else observed the same thing? Otherwise both the system works very smooth. I run my system as server and it has no problem. does the CPU fan slow down when it's idle on this mobo?
 
I had a kk266 (regular, not plus), and I don't believe I had a setting for the cpu fan to slow down at idle. If your board does, it probably came with that option disabled. How intense of a screensaver do you have on your machine?
