question for history/theology majors

Ok, first off, please only post constructive comments. I don't want to start a flame war. I truly would like a FACTUAL answer to my question.

The question is -

Are there any other important (kings, scholars, theologians, etc) historical figures besides Jesus that have no known writings contributed to them? By this I mean that they wrote them, or were supposed to have written them themselves.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

I know there are writings done by Stalin.....

.....and Puff Daddy.

I don't care about PuDonk but Stalin? What real writings have been published by him? And I'm not talking about proclamations and propaganda...

Socrates is another
all that we know is via Xenophon and Plato, his disciples

Thank you. That is what I meant.

Do you know if there is a Greek record of his trial?

I'm not too familiar with all the details.... but maybe you can get it from Wikipedia Here

Jesus didn't write anything, the Christians did. Also, Plato wrote about Socrates not Socrates himself. I am still confused about your original question.

I took it as, a famous person who never wrote anything but who is famous for his ideas
So, Jesus is famous yet he did not write the Bible, Socrates is famous yet he never worte anything (that has ever been found)

I know Jesus didn't write anything. Period.

I wanted to know if there were any other historical figures that were like that.

Socrates is the only one so far. There is not a single written document of any kind attributed to him.

so let me get this strait, you want known people in history that didn't write anything themselves? half the Roman leaders fall into that catagory. I don't think Nero was much of a writer. Or if you want more teachers and stuff you could try Rabbi Hillel.

I don't mean they never wrote any kind of works, just that there is NOTHING written by them. No document signed, handwritten letter, grocery list, NOTHING. I am pretty sure there are documents from every roman leader.
