Considering buying an 80MM Papst fan and I want to know if they have an RPM sensing lead. I know that the Panaflo's don't so I thought I would ask. Specifically looking at the 8412NM.

Thanks :D

Papst has thousands of options for there fans im pretty sure they have one with the rpm pulse lead. They just gotta be ordered that way.

I'll look around to make sure...

Most of my Papst fans don't have RPM sensoring but some have. Like GiZzO I think almost any common Papst fan is somewhere available with that option, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, I'd suggest to get the 8412NGM instead of the 8412NM. I'd take Sleeve-Sintec bearing over Double-Ball-Bearing any time. It's less noisy but not less durable.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was considering buying from Newark and I will ask them about options. Hanky, I thought sleeve bearing fans wore out faster. Does the 8412NGM use a different type of sleeve? Also, where did you buy your fans?

All Papst fans with the letters "NG" behind the numbers indicating the size and voltage of the fan (612, 8412, ...) use a special Sintec Sleeve bearing no other fan manufacturer I know uses (I think "N" stands for "New" or something like that and I'm pretty sure "G" stands for "Gleitlager", the German word for "Sleeve Bearing"...so you get "New Sleeve Bearing" or something similar). Some people call this fans Papst-Sintec fans to separate them from the other more standard ones.
These Sintec Sleeve Bearing fans are of very high quality compared to usual Sleeve Bearing fans : They have the low noise most Sleeve Bearing fans have at the beginning, but they are as durable as good 2-Ball Bearing fans, so they will stay quiet for a very long time while most standard sleeve bearing fans become noisy after a very short time. I can't explain how these Sintec bearings work in detail though...would have to do some research for that...
