So I'm in the second round of the playoffs and I'm very far ahead on batting. I doubt my opponent will be able to catch up on any of the stats there. In pitching, I have reached my innings minimum and am only ahead on WHIP which is 1.05 to his 1.12. If I keep the WHIP lead, I will win 6-5. Would it be cheap of me to shut down all of my pitchers the rest of the week to maintain the lead? I doubt I can improve on a 1.05 WHIP and I highly doubt he can lower his WHIP.

If I make it to the finals, I'll be in the money round.

It's not cheap at all if it works. I would do that if I was ahead.

Depends on your pitchers RE: WHIP. If you have insane shutdown closers with <1 WHIP like Mariano then I'd keep them in (or someone like Cliff Lee or Halladay as your starter).

Yep, it's strategy. I've done something similar and was accused of being cheap/cheating by someone new to the league. It's how the game is played.

That's my problem too. Minnesota screwed me by picking up Capps so I only have Jenks and Koji Uehara as my closers. My opponent has Soria, Rafael Soriano, Leo Nunez and Daniel Bard.

He's got Wade Davis, Tommy Hanson (both Fri), Francisco Liriano (Sun) starting. I've got CJ Wilson (Fri), David Price & Jordan Zimmerman (Sat), John Danks, Clayton Kershaw and Travis Wood (Sun) starting. He's leading me 4 Wins 2 Saves 27 SO 2.73 ERA 1.12 WHIP to my 1 Win 0 Saves 25 SO 3.15 ERA 1.05 WHIP. We've both thrown at least 30 innings. I figure it will take at least 3 no hit innings to get to my 1.05 WHIP.

My batting should be OK. I'm tied in steals and he's close in RBI but I have a much better lineup than him.

Actually, come to think about it, I should just go for the strike out lead since he has only 3 starters to my 6. That would be less pressure and easier to do.
